Norwood is situated within a quiet suburban area on Park Road in Ipswich.
Norwood, formally a bishop’s palace, is situated on Park Road in Ipswich. Opened in 1979, the home is named after The Norwood Charitable Trust, established by MHA supporters Thomas England and his wife. The trust provided a grant to add a new purpose-built wing to the original building.
Fully refurbished in recent years, the communal areas have been redesigned and six rooms added. The home also varied its registration in order to provide residential and dementia specialist care. The Home Manager says,
Over the years this charming building has changed time and again to meet the needs of older people, whilst retaining all its character and charm.
Norwood offers care and comfort, compassion and friendship. At the heart of all we deliver is our assurance that you will be treated with the respect and dignity that we all deserve. If you need anything at all, we’re here to help, 24 hours a day.
